"…we're old, and we're jaded, and our rock dreams have faded…" goes a line in one of their songs. Low Wires is a group of 4 guys whose friendships playing in different bands together go back as far as 1990. The gigs that they have played separately and together in different combos certainly number over 1000.
Now they all live in the same town. One of them has a small recording studio, half of them have kids, and all four run their own businesses. Lately, when they have time, they write rehearse and record. Soon they'll play some rock shows that aren't too far away from their houses.
Don't let the over 120 years of combined musical experience fool you. Their songs are loud, tight, and sometimes even really fast. Classic Rock, Punk, Blues, and Metal are all meticulously and tastefully entwined to groove and excite the senses. It's all a tad bit silly, heavy, sad, and raunchy with loud guitar, a honking saxophone, and full throated vocals all tied up nicely with a sturdy, bone crunching rhythm section.
So be sure to ignore Low Wires if you hate having a good time listening to just the right mix of Mick Ronson, Mitch Mitchell, John Entiwistle, Johnny Rotten, Angus Young, Keith Moon, Geezer Butler, Gibby Haynes, Jimmy Page, Jim Morrison, Greg Ginn, Mark Sandman, Mark Ribot…
